We still love those Steelers..

Construction of Igloo complete! Maverick and dad worked hard all day Sunday constructing a 7' tall igloo. Mason built Legos and came outside for a family picture. Mason was sporting his awesome "Ward" jersey from the "Pittsburgh Steeler Gang". We've never met; just the power of friendship through football!! Those Steeler football fans rock!!

Ally wanted the Chiefs to win!!
The cool picture she is holding up was brought by Sunday; drawn by Jayden a third grader at Brookridge. Ally liked the picture; just wrong team.

Mason and Maverick enjoyed the Terrible Towel. We all enjoyed the game! We smiled as The Pittsburgh Steelers Never gave up! Congratulations, Green Bay Packers and Packer fans !

This morning after a strange dream, I woke up wanting to look up the definition of normal. Strange huh? The world around us full of normalcy, but somehow forever escaping our grasp. Reflecting on all the good that has surrounded us, and everyone that has come together. Deep thinking this morning, as Maverick was ready for school and out the door. After breakfast this morning, Mason smiled and although he barely speaks, he said, "I get mail today" Thanks everyone!! The smile; a great way to start our week. As Mason is eating the last cookie this morning brought by his friend Juan, along with a bag full of Valentines. So excited to receive mail even on Sunday.

Cool igloo.....I agree with Ally, wishing it was the Chief's....next year girlfriend. The game was very close. So glad that more mail will arrive today, I know it must be a special time for everyone, especially Mason. I look forward to reading your blog everyday. Sending prayers your way.

I am so glad that the daily Valentine deliveries still bring a smile to your dear Mason. I smile just thinking about the Valentine project you created. ♥
One of my good friends has taken your idea and posted a message on her Facebook page to have friends send Valentines to the 10 year old son of her friend who is suffering from a relapse of leukemia. He is awaiting a bone marrow transplant. I imagine he will get plenty of joy from his mail deliveries, too.
That is the most amazing igloo! With the very cold temperatures this week the kids should have plenty of opportunities to play in it!

Hi Mason! I heard about you at the JCC today and wanted to pop over and let you know I am thinking about you and praying. I live in Fairway and am going to try and take my kids to Chili's tomorrow!

Love those pics and you should be getting some mail from me soon!

Read your updates every day and pray for you too from here in Japan. What a neat igloo! Well done! Glad Mason could go outside even for a bit to enjoy the fact that it was there. I wish I would have realized when I sent my packet off from Japan that it was also about Valentine's day but still will be glad to hear when they arrive! Praying you have strength for the day and remember that your day is 'normal'...just a different normal from someone else. So praying you find some joy in your 'normal' day and something to lift your spirits (all of you) when it is hard to hold them up yourself.

Thank you Ken and Vicki! We received your card from Japan. Yours was the first from Japan. We are overwhelmed with all the cards from all over the world. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.
