Monday

Good Morning Monday. It's been a difficult weekend; it is unbelievable how much has changed. Mason continues to need oxygen 24/7 and we now have the help of continuous care. Although I know it must seem strange to Mason. As this all came so sudden and I am doing my best to respect his privacy. He now only verbalizes with a head shake or nod. He can look me in the eye and I know. His appetite has decreased tremendously, not sure how hungry he is or if it's because he no longer can chew. We are weaning the steroids. As pudding and jello are consumed with small swallows. Sleep consumes his day as morphine helps with shortness of breath. Our hearts are broken, but we are at peace knowing Mason will be Healed. Our God Heals. Mason knows this too. Mason enjoys reading the beautiful book titled, There's a Party in Heaven. We feel your continued prayers. Mason is pain free; although he struggles with the immediate decline of his body. He is a true hero; fighting and holding true to his character. Santa, yes Santa stopped by on Sunday as the snow fell from the sky...thank you friends and angels for this moment.

"God blesses you who weep now, for the time will come when you will laugh with joy"

Luke 6:21 ( 6/21 )

My prayers are with Mason and his family. My dad has brain cancer, I see what it does to an adult and can not imagine a child fighting it, Mason is a true hero with amazing strength.

It snowed overnight in Springfield. Just a small amount, but enough to start my day with thoughts of Mason. I will never look at snow the same again. Its' beauty will have more meaning everytime I see it, and I will think of Mason. Love and prayers to you all.

It is so hard when changes happen suddenly and everyone has little time to adapt. Thankful that Mason is not in pain. Praying that the Lord will give you and Mason strength and a peace that passes all understanding. "Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you."

I prayed the novena this past week asking for comfort for Mason and strength for the family. Mason, our hero, has changed a great deal of caring people in ways we never expected. Our hearts are always with you in this journey. Give Mason our love and prayers.

Mason sometimes life is an unknowing realm were we can only trust in truths of our loving heavenly father, where he had suffered so he would be able to understand our deepest heart felt sufferings. As you and your parents go through such an experience, I will tell you that God loves you more than man can comprehend and has been there and will always be there to support you and your family. Remeber there is no limit to his eternal love, or to the love your parents have for you.

Whenever I think of Mason, I can literrally feel the prayers of others rising up around me. The lovely little dusting of snow this morning on last year's wild flower garden reminded me of the beautiful love your family has given to Mason and each other during this past year. You have been so generous to share this with the rest of us - indeed you have shared it with the entire world, evidenced by the outpouring of valentines and shamrocks for a brave young man.

Thank you Andria for such a frank message. It allows us to peer into your world for a brief moment, to understand how life is on your side. If we all could take 1 second each of your grief, to lift some of this burden off you we would. We'd take all that we could bare if we could. For now, please know that we are praying for you. My Alli talks so much, to everyone, about your Mason. It seems to be the only thing on her mind. We pray each day, more than once, for you and your family and all those who have had to go through Pediatric Cancer. It is sad when our 7 year olds can read the word "pediatric"--and say it correctly. God has and will continue to bless you. We don't know the reason why you've gone through this just yet, but we will someday learn. God bless you.

As I read your daily blogs it reminds me of how we should take each day as a blessing from God and not take them for granted. You, Mason and the rest of your family are truly a blessing to all of us that follow this blog. You have shown what the meaning of true faith is. To allow God to take over and not fear what tomorrow brings. May you continue to be blessed with Gods love and grace. May he shower his love upon you and give you the peace you so desire. Peace in knowing that Mason is healed and free from pain.

Much love coming your way from all around.

We will never look at snow the same way again. Yesterday we were all thinking, and then finally one said "I hope Mason is able to see the snow today."

Oh gosh, Andria... So sorry. All of our hearts are breaking with yours. Mason will find peace and your family will too. What a gift he is to all of us. And you all are an inspiration to us. I know you don't really need that honor and wish it weren't for these reasons, but you and Mason have taught us all so much. I am just so sorry and wish there were some way to ease your pain. I told the kids it was magic snow, just for Mason. Amazing to see I was right...it brought him Santa in March! Our thoughts are always with you. K

Oh, I'm feeling so sad...that snow certainly must have fallen for Mason...here I am in Tucson still but forever have you in my thoughts. I, too, will always think of Mason with every snowfall I ever see. And that will be a good thing. I am so very relieved he is pain free and that your family is getting support from health care professionals now. Hopefully this gives you the time you need to just love, hold, hug, and be there with your kids and husband, Andria. I love you all.

I thought how magical that God made it snow just for Mason. The snow looked like cotton falling from the sky, as if God was trying to make Mason comfortable. I will forever think of Mason every time the snow falls, just like all the other people that follow your story. I only hope that comfort will come to you one day.

To Those I love ~Isla Paschal Richardson

If I should ever leave you whom I love
To go along the Silent Way… grieve not.
Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk
Of me as if I were beside you there.
(I’d come…I’d come, could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers?)
And when you hear a song or see a bird
I loved, please do not let the thought of me
be sad…  For I am loving you just as
I always have…
You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still
To do…so many things to say to you…
Remember that I did not fear…It was
Just leaving you that was so hard to face.
We cannot see Beyond…But this I know:
I loved you so…‘twas heaven here with you!

I have been wearing my braclet for him since you sent it to me. I keep it on 24/7 and have not taken it off even to bathe in. Everytime I see it and sort of play with it I send up a prayer for Mason and your family. How are your other 2 children coping with all of this. I wish there was something I could do...but please know we are totally thinking of you. I have sent his link to American Adoptions for them to see. Much hugs to you and your fammily...Susan Mars

We've never met, but the people of Colonial Church in Prairie Village are praying for you all. Last night, I prayed with my boys for you and yours. We all prayed for different things, but we all ask for God to be with you.

My heart is with you.

I pray that your family will be blessed with a joy that lifts you from this pain - an unexplainable joy that defies expectations and that only God can give. Your love absolutely shines in the journey that you chronicle here. I hope that love returns to you 1,000-fold. I send some of it myself.

Something that helped me was,my 18 year old niece, who seems wise beyond her years and has more faith than anyone I know, said to me"Aunt Brenda,Garett will get his healing and it will be a complete and perfect healing,it may not come when we want it to, but he will recieve it for sure, the very second he closes his eyes for the last time and Jesus is holding him in His arms". This is such a beautiful thought to me and it is the most perfect thing anyone has said to me.That sweet girl prays for his miracle everyday.Mason has recieved his complete and perfect healing.DIPG can not beat Jesus.God bless your family.
