It's SNOWING in Heaven

I am running through the fields with strawberries so red, as snow falls on my head. Loved ones embrace, the tigers and I are having a race. Thank you Jesus, I am ME once more, rejoice my friends; Heaven opened the door.. Remember me, live, love, laugh... I AM FREE!!
We love YOU!!!

We read There's a Party in Heaven last night to our girls. What a wonderful book! It really makes Heaven such a tangable place. We daydreamed about what our Heaven would be like. As I read your blog, I look to the right--only to find so many things that such a young man has done. Many people 6 times his age cannot list these accomplishments on their resume. Please celebrate all the things that both he and you did. Thank you for all the things you have done for us too.

And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One

Name above all names
Worthy of our praise

How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see

So many lives all around the world were changed by Mason. So many people will be there in heaven some day with Mason, because you wrote his story for all of us to share in. The effect he had on the world was awe inspiring. Who could have guessed that your son would have touched so many? How funny that we are in the middle of lent, thinking about another son who touched the whole world.

May you all find peace in the knowledge that God has opened his arms to receive Mason. It is heartbreaking, but an amazing full circle gift that you got to be with him in birth and his return to the Lord. My love to you and your family.

Dear Kempf Family
My heart is heavy as I read your blog today...yet know Mason is no longer in pain. He was so blessed to have such a wonderful family and likewise, you so blessed to have such a wonderful young man. Thank you for sharing your journey with us...our lives will never be the same...as we know life is short, things can change overnight, and we need to not take anything for granted. You have lived life to the fullest the past 11 plus months, creating memories that will last a lifetime and hopefully these will bring back smiles. You remain in our thoughts and prayers.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Kempf Family,
For every parent it is different and I know you pain In Nov 09 I lost my dear son Noah to Neuroblastoma at the tender age of 5. Just shortly after his passing I ran across this in a christian bookstore and I wanted you to read this as well

The Reunion
Since Heaven has become your home
i sometimes feel I'm so alone;
and though we now are far apart
you hold a big piece of my heart.

I never knew how much I'd grieve
when it was time for you to leave,
or just how much my heart would ache
from that one fragment you would take.

God lets this tender hole remain
reminding me we'll meet again,
and one day all the pain will cease
when He restores this missing piece.

He'll turn to joy my every tear
with thoughts of you I hold so dear,
and they'll become my special way
to treasure our Reunion Day.

I have only been reading your blog about Mason for a couple weeks, and in that very short time alone he has impacted me... he's been on my mind and in my prayers every day.
Like everyone else has said, I'm happy that he is free and healthy and whole in Heaven. I know that that is a huge consolation to you. The loss of him, though... I know that there aren't words to even speak to that. Your loss and your pain are precious in His sight. He is El Roi, the God Who Sees. He sees your pain, and he sees that you have been both a warrior and a caretaker.

Eddie and family,

I told my 10 year old daughter Avery about Mason and she just can't understand why someone so close to her age could be taken from us....she wrote the following:

"I feel very very sorry. It must be very hard to lose your son. We must pray our best for Mason and wish he has a good time in heaven. Avery."

I am certain Avery is right...Mason is having a really good time in Heaven and he will be looking after each of you so closely. My heart aches for you in this time of immeasurable grief, but as others have said Mason has touched so many. I am proud to have known Mason even if only through this blog and the words of his incredibly proud Dad.

I think of all the acts of kindness that people came together and did in honor of Mason, the garage sale, the school dinner, the parade, the thousands of Valentines, the elves and snow. I have seen joy and laughter, compassion, caring and Gods' love and a family share their faith through difficult times. Sad news to take in today, know that our family is praying for your family and the difficult days ahead. It's difficult to understand the "why" and comprehend God's wisdom about things like this when it makes so little sense to us. We're all here for a reason and we all leave this world with a purpose. I think Mason's purpose was a great one. He taught me that life is fleeting, to make it count every day. He was an inspiration to me and to many people. He was one of a kind. Just like God makes every snowflake in a storm unique and special, he does the same with us. Mason was one special little guy and I feel lucky to have known his story of strength, courage, and perseverance. Hang in the Kempf family, God loves you!

We started reading your blog in January when we heard about the Valentine's Day card project for Mason. Though we've never met it feels as if we know each of you through your beautiful writings. Our hearts are grieving with you. Please know that many, many people will be praying for you, Eddie, Maverick and Alli in the days to come. Mason and your family have inspired me to cherish our own boys (who also love Star Wars Legos and soccer) more each day. Thank you so much for sharing Mason with us. May God hold each of you in His arms.

I heard this song by Matthew West and thought of you.

Save a Place for Me

Don't be mad
If I cry
It just hurts so bad, sometimes
'Cause everyday it's sinking in
And I have to say goodbye all over again

You know I bet it feels good to have the weight of this world off your shoulders now
I'm dreaming of the day when I'm finally there with you

(Chorus)
Save a place for me
Save a place for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon
Save a place for me
Save some grace for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon

I have asked the questions why
But I guess the answer's for another time
So instead I pray, with every tear
And be thankful for the time I had you here

(Chorus)
Save a place for me
Save a place for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon
Save a place for me
Save some grace for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon

I wanna live my life Just like you did
Make the most of my time Just like you did
And I want to make my home up in the sky Just like you did
Oh, but until I get there...
Until I get there...

(Chorus)
Save a place for me
Save a place for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon
Save a place for me
Save some grace for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon

The Lord bless you and keep you,
The Lord lift His countenance upon you,

And be gracious unto you, be gracious,
The Lord be gracious, gracious unto you.

What a life! This little boy touched the lives of people he didn't even know, and changed some forever. When my sophomore classes read the play Our Town by Thornton Wilder (a play about appreciating the simple things in life), I learned of Mason's illness. As an assignment, I asked them to make valentine cards and we mailed them to Mason. This morning I had to tell them that Mason went to heaven. Although they knew it was coming, they were saddened for Mason's family but excited at the idea that Mason's body is now healed. Please take comfort in the knowledge that Mason made his short 10 years count for more than some people do in a very long lifetime. I will pray for you as you adjust to the new normal that has forced itself upon your life.

From the day I met you, I admired your parenting and love you showered your children. God knew that you were the ones that were to be chosen to adopt Mason, long before you were in the hospital to watch him be born and cradle him. He knew you would be the most loving parents and that you would have the heart, talent to write and inspire others throughout the entire world through your blog. Mason was mature beyond his young years to accept God's plan for him. Please pass on my love to Meme too.

"God of all mystery, whose ways are beyond understanding, lead us, who grieve at the untimely death, to a new and deeper faith in your love, which brought your only Son Jesus through death into resurrection life."

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh, but Jesus'love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still,
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remains,
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

The heavens lit up with Mason's arrival as our world grew dim. We are all better for knowing Mason and have learned so much from him these past 11 months. His quiet courage has inspired us all. His mission from God is completed and he will now bask in the warmth of heavens love. Enjoy the party in heaven Mason!

Mason touched me, my son, and a dear friend of mine tremendously. We always take some moments each day to talk about Mason and ask each other, "Did you read about Mason today?" We have enjoyed sharing with each other about cards we might have sent. My friend and I were particularly grateful to be allowed to send Mason cards, and we thank you for inviting us to send the valentines. Our hearts are SO grateful that you shared Mason and your entire family with us. It is an honor to have known him and the entire Kempf family, even if only through all of the love shared on this blog. I will draw inspiration from Mason's bravery for the rest of my life. May peace be with you.

I've woken up every morning thinking about Mason and your entire family. Your loss is being felt around the world. Mason was such a wise, sweet child...as are your other children. I know that the days and months ahead will be difficult, as you adjust to life without your dear son (and brother.) I hope that will feel the love and support of this community that you created just by sharing your story. We are holding you in prayer and spirit.

As I have read about the many special moments you have shared with us I have been reminded of a book I read in high school by Dale Evans called "Angel Unaware". She and Roy Rogers lost a child and believed she was an angel sent by God to touch their lives. Truely, Mason was an angel and you his emissaries as your stories wove around so many hearts and changed lives. For myself, he deepened my faith beyond measure. I love and respect you for yours as I have come to know you over the past few months as I never would have were it not for your angel, Mason. God bless him in heaven and you here on earth. One day you will all party with him there. --Aunt Karen

I'm one of Kay's friends who made Mason the green quilt with some of his favorite things on it. I hope it kept him warm and comforted, and he felt the love that was quilted into it. He was so special. So is his family.

Hi,
I just got online because Mason was on my heart and I wanted to say hello. I was at first shocked to read that Mason had passed on to be with Jesus, but I see that you are at peace with his passing. Mason is absolutely in his healed body now. He is sitting at the feet of Jesus and smiling. I want to still keep in touch with you. You and your family have a special place in my heart and in the hearts of my students. Love and prayers to all of you!!!!!

Even though Mason has left us, he will remain in our hearts forever. It's comforting to know he'll be an angel looking over his family and friends. He can now run and play with no pain, no sickness, no medicine. RIP little angel...we'll never forget you.
