More snow please.....

It's the 4 a.m. wake up call, the "I can't sleep, too much on my mind" It's hard once again to put down words...
Yesterday I found myself sticking with the normal routine of cleaning and organizing, while Ally and Mason watched television, or played video games. Everything seems normal, until I get the, "Mom, will you help me". Walking, dressing and simple day to day tasks are challenging. When Maverick gets home there is added excitement, a trip to the pool was planned. Right before we left Mason fell down and hit his head. I had this added fear he might fall at the pool. My stomach is in knots all the time. As I sat and watched the boys race around the lazy river; wishing everything could be normal. But there is even a difference at the pool. And I try to concentrate on the laughter and the giggles between the boys. There is nothing better than the laughter; and it scares me to wonder when that may change. Laughter, that's not to much to ask for is it? For now, we concentrate on each day. We are so thankful for all the support. Lots of invites; but it is hard to leave the house. And I sit and worry; I've hurt someone's feelings.
Mason has stopped requesting Oreo blasts and instead eats cereal twice a day and maybe a snack here and there. Raisin Bran and Corn Pops, or a glass of chocolate milk are the requests this week.
And all I would like to request is "Snow", lots of it. Mason deserves the beauty and laughter of the snow. For anyone that has ever watched a kid play in the snow understands. I leave with a January 2010 photo. Almost a year has past; a year forever etched in my mind.....

I think the last thing you need to worry about are people's feelings. After meeting so many of the people who are here to support you and your family, I doubt that any of them will hold anything against you if you don't get a thank you card in the mail or have to turn down a visit. You are a rock for not just your family but all of us who care for you. We only wish we could do more to help.

Anonymous said it all. Take care of yourself, Andria, and continue the wonderful things you are doing wtih your family. That is all that really matters right now.

I asked Celia when I was there if there was someone with a snow maker machine, I wish I could find someone w/a dump truck to bring a load of snow from Colorado.

Hang in there Andria - I know that probably seems impossible sometimes. Words cannot ever express to you how much you & your family and what you are going through touches so many of us. Concentrate on the laughter and giggles - that's all that matters. I wish I could give you the comfort you need - just know so many of us have you in our prayers at night!!

Goosebumps. None of us could ever begin to imagine the range of emotions you can go through in a day or possibly an hour. Never lose a minute worrying about anyone else feelings, friends and your new extended family just want you all to cherish and enjoy. There is not a one of us that wants you to take a minute of your precious time to extend a thank you. Glad the pool trip ended up being a blast for the kids! I cant wait for the snow this year either...your kids always have such a blast with the snowball fights, building giant slides as you borrow snow from the neighbor, and that tribute to Superbowl last Jan was amazing. Oh, bring on the snowstorms! Hugs to you all.

I was laughing as I read an above post saying the kids borrow snow from the neighbors...do they give it back as water balloon in the summer?!? That cracked me up picturing that..."Here's your snow back we borrowed during the winter."

Yes, we borrow snow. Maverick asked anyway. And sure enough the neighbor kids join in and help out. It is an incredible neighborhood. If only we had a freezer big enough, we would have loved to store it all.
