Little Things....

Just had to share...one of those moments where I totally got a reality check. I was making dinner and Maverick was outside on the patio playing. And Mason said, you won't believe what Maverick is doing. So, I assumed he was doing something wrong and saw him pushing a tricycle. So I yelled for him to come sit down, and then I saw on the table a HUGE pile of pop tops. And Maverick said, "I am sorry mom I was using the basket in the tricycle to collect pop tops" I really want to help this place." I just wanted to bawl....every since we arrived Maverick has been looking on the ground and finding every single pop top he can. He has a heart full of gold. And a whole lot of love for his brother.

WOW..that is something. We know how Maverick feels. It is hard to not be able to do anything to help the ones you love. So many life lessons have been realized in these past few months...even for our children.

Love you guys
Carrie

What a wonderful quote. It is those little things that make our life worth while. Thanks for giving us another reason why your family is as caring as they are. Thanks, Maverick! The world needs more people like you!

When Ronald McDonald came to Brookridge to accept the pop tops at a school-wide assembly, all the children were SO excited. As Ronald McDonald graciously accepted the pop tops, he talked about the wonderful service that all the Ronald McDonald houses provide to families. While he was talking, I couldn't keep my eyes off Maverick. He was listening so intently and with a profound awareness in his beautiful eyes. He was a little trooper and a wonderful example of for all the second graders. Your family is a brave and loving one and all three children follow the lead of two parents who exemplify for all of us, "grace under pressure." God Bless each one of you on your daily journey.
